The Smith & Wesson M&P15 Sport II Optics Ready is a gas-operated, semi-automatic rifle based on the AR-15 platform, designed for dependable performance in a wide range of shooting environments. Chambered in 5.56 NATO (.223 Remington), it features a 16-inch 4140 chromoly steel barrel with a corrosion-resistant Armornite finish and a 1:9" twist rate, allowing for versatile projectile stabilization. The threaded barrel is paired with a low-profile gas block that incorporates a Picatinny-style rail and QD sling attachment point.

The rifle’s upper and lower receivers are forged from 7075-T6 aluminum, complete with a dust cover, forward assist, and an integral trigger guard. The chrome-plated firing pin enhances durability and ease of maintenance. The six-position CAR-style collapsible stock allows for comfortable adjustment, complemented by a standard polymer pistol grip.
