It combines the inherent accuracy and reliability of a bolt-action system with the practical advantage of AR-style magazine compatibility, allowing the rifle to feed from standard AR-pattern magazines. The rifle is supplied with a Magpul® PMAG®, providing a total capacity of 10+1 rounds.
At the core of the rifle is a 16.25-inch (413 mm) medium bull barrel, optimized for durability and consistent accuracy. The barrel features an A2-style profile, is threaded, and is equipped with a removable muzzle brake, enhancing recoil control during rapid or extended shooting sessions. A 1:10 twist rate makes the barrel well suited for the full range of common .308 Winchester / 7.62 NATO bullet weights. The barrel and metal components are finished in a matte blued finish, minimizing reflections and improving resistance to wear.
The Mossberg MVP Patrol is equipped with fiber-optic rifle sights for fast target acquisition, while a receiver-mounted Picatinny rail allows easy installation of optical sights or other accessories. The rifle features Mossberg’s patented Lightning Bolt Action (LBA®) trigger system, which is user-adjustable within a range of 3 to 7 pounds (approximately 1.4 to 3.2 kg), delivering a clean and consistent trigger break.
