The Mossberg MC-1sc is a modern subcompact semi-automatic pistol designed for everyday concealed carry, representing the result of three years of development and incorporating several patent-pending design solutions. Chambered in 9mm Luger, it delivers an effective balance of size, weight, and shootability, with an overall length of 6.25 inches (158.8 mm), a 3.4-inch barrel, and a weight of 19 ounces (or 540g) - unloaded.
The pistol is supplied with single-stack Clear-Count™ magazines, including a flush-fit 6-round magazine, manufactured from a transparent, low-friction polymer compound with high wear resistance. The transparent construction allows instant visual confirmation of round count and ammunition type, while high-visibility followers and easily removable floor plates enhance usability and maintenance.
A key safety innovation is the Mossberg STS™ (Safe Takedown System), which allows field stripping without pulling the trigger, significantly improving safety during routine cleaning and maintenance. Grip ergonomics are enhanced by aggressive texturing, an integrated palm swell, and a 1911-inspired grip angle, providing a secure and confident hold.
The stainless steel slide features a durable DLC (Diamond Like Coating) finish to reduce friction and increase wear resistance, along with aggressive multi-angle serrations for positive slide manipulation. TRUGLO Tritium Pro night sights offer fast target acquisition while remaining suitable for concealed carry.
The frame is constructed from glass-reinforced polymer, delivering high impact and chemical resistance. The stainless steel barrel, also DLC-coated, features a 1:16 twist rate. The pistol is equipped with a flat-faced trigger with integrated blade safety, offering a short, tactile reset, reduced overtravel, and a trigger pull weight of 5–6 pounds. All MC-1sc models feature a reversible magazine release.
