Ruger SP101 is a double-action revolver chambered for .38 Special +P, designed as a compact and highly durable platform for concealed carry and personal defense. The construction is based on a stainless steel frame, providing excellent strength, corrosion resistance, and long service life while maintaining compact dimensions.
The revolver operates in a double-action mechanism (DA) with a standard exposed hammer, allowing conventional double-action operation. A transfer bar safety system provides an enhanced level of protection against accidental discharge.
The barrel measures 2.25" (57 mm) and is cold hammer-forged for durability and accuracy. It features a 1:18.75" RH twist rate, optimized for .38 Special +P cartridges. The sighting system consists of a fixed integral rear sight and a pinned, replaceable black ramp front sight.
The cylinder has a capacity of 5 rounds and uses a triple-locking system (front, rear, and bottom lock-up) for strong alignment and reliable operation shot after shot. Ergonomics are provided by cushioned rubber grips with synthetic, improving comfort and recoil control.
