Ruger Super Redhawk is a double-action revolver chambered for .454 Casull, designed as an extremely robust and highly accurate platform for big game hunting and demanding field use where maximum strength, reliability, and durability are required. The construction is based on a stainless steel frame with high corrosion resistance, engineered to withstand extreme chamber pressures.
The revolver operates in a double-action mechanism (DA). A transfer bar safety system provides an enhanced level of protection against accidental discharge.
The barrel measures 7.5" (191 mm) and is cold hammer-forged, ensuring excellent durability, accuracy, and ease of maintenance. It features a 1:24" RH twist rate, optimized for .454 Casull cartridges. The sighting system consists of a replaceable red ramp front sight and an adjustable rear sight, enabling precise aiming at extended distances.
The cylinder has a capacity of 6 rounds and uses a triple-locking system (front, rear, and bottom lock-up) for maximum alignment strength and consistent operation shot after shot. The frame is extended and heavily reinforced, with additional material in the top strap, sidewalls, and barrel mounting areas to withstand the high pressures generated by big game cartridges.
Ergonomics are provided by a Hogue Tamer grip with an internal recoil-absorbing cushion positioned under the web of the hand, helping to reduce perceived recoil. The grip frame also allows for the installation of custom grips.
A key feature is the integral scope mounting system, machined directly into the solid steel barrel rib, providing a rigid and stable mounting platform for scope rings and helping prevent loosening or loss of zero in field conditions.
