The Smith & Wesson M&P15 Sport II is a modern semi-automatic rifle based on the AR-15 platform, designed for a wide range of recreational, sport shooting, and professional applications. Chambered in 5.56 NATO (.223 Rem) and equipped with a 16-inch barrel made from 4140 chromoly steel with an Armornite® finish, it combines durability, reliability, and lightweight handling. The threaded barrel is fitted with an A2-style front sight. Armornite® is a hardened nitride finish that enhances corrosion and wear resistance while reducing light reflection.
The rifle features an aluminum receiver and a polymer pistol grip. Its equipment includes a Magpul MBUS® rear sight, forward assist, dust cover, and chromed firing pin. The six-position collapsible stock allows the rifle's length of pull to be adjusted to suit the shooter. The upper receiver provides an optics-ready mounting interface, while the overall design is compatible with most standard AR-15 components and accessories.
The rifle is equipped with a 30-round magazine and a thumb-operated manual safety. Overall length is approximately 35 inches (88.9 cm), width 2.5 inches (6.35 cm), height 8 inches (20.3 cm), and weight 102.72 oz (2.91 kg).
