The BCM Recce-16 MCMR ELW is a lightweight, MIL-SPEC AR-15 semi-automatic rifle chambered in .223 Rem. A 16" ELW barrel and mid-length gas system deliver excellent reliability and shooting performance. Supplied with a 30-round magazine.
The BRAVO COMPANY RECCE 16 MCMR ELW is a lightweight, high-quality semi-automatic rifle built on the AR-15 platform, engineered with a strong emphasis on reliability, reduced weight, and full MIL-SPEC compatibility. This model is designed for professional users as well as demanding civilian shooters who require uncompromising materials, manufacturing standards, and real-world performance.
The rifle is built around upper and lower receivers machined from 7075-T6 aluminum forgings, finished with hardcoat anodizing in accordance with MIL-A-8625F, Type III, Class 2. The upper receiver features a flat-top Picatinny rail with laser-etched T-markings and M4 feed ramps, ensuring consistent and reliable feeding under demanding conditions. A mid-length gas system is employed to provide smoother cycling, reduced recoil impulse, and extended component service life.
At the core of the operating system is the BCM bolt carrier group, manufactured from MIL-SPEC Carpenter No. 158 steel and subjected to high-pressure testing (HPT) and magnetic particle inspection (MPI). The carrier and gas key are chrome lined, with the gas key hardened to USGI specifications and secured using Grade 8 fasteners with proper staking. The extractor is equipped with a tool-steel claw, BCM extractor spring, and black insert to ensure positive extraction across a wide range of ammunition types.
The barrel is produced from independently certified MIL-SPEC 11595E steel and treated with a manganese phosphate finish along its entire length. It features a 16-inch (406 mm) Enhanced Light Weight (ELW) profile, balancing durability with minimal mass. The bore and chamber are chrome lined for 5.56×45 mm NATO, and the 1:7" twist rate allows for reliable stabilization of a broad range of bullet weights, including heavier military projectiles. Each barrel is individually HPT and MPI inspected to meet stringent military standards.
The lower receiver is configured in a low-shelf design, allowing compatibility with registered drop-in auto sears in jurisdictions where legally permitted, and also supports the use of an Accuwedge. Fire control markings are clearly designated SAFE and SEMI. The rifle is equipped with a MIL-SPEC 7075-T6 receiver extension, a properly staked M4 castle nut, and a USGI H buffer combining tungsten and steel weights for reliable and balanced operation.
The rifle is designed to accept standard AR-15 magazines with a 30-round capacity in 5.56×45 mm NATO, ensuring full compatibility with widely available military and civilian magazines.
Overall weight is approximately 5.8 lb (2.63 kg). The collapsed length measures 32.5 inches (826 mm), extending to 35.5 inches (902 mm) with the stock fully deployed, offering excellent handling characteristics in both dynamic shooting environments and confined spaces. Each complete rifle is delivered with one 30-round magazine (where legally permitted), a cable lock, a USGI manual, and includes the applicable Federal Excise Tax (F.E.T.).
The BCM Recce-16 MCMR ELW exemplifies Bravo Company Manufacturing’s philosophy: uncompromising materials, strict quality control, and a focus on real-world reliability rather than cosmetic features.
