Both the upper and lower receivers are CNC-machined from 7075-T6 aluminum with a Type III hard-coat anodized finish. The lower receiver features an enhanced flared magazine well and a rear QD sling attachment point, ensuring efficient handling and adaptability in the field.
At the core of the rifle is an 18" Cold Hammer Forged barrel made from Daniel Defense’s proprietary steel, built in the heavy S2W profile and chrome-lined for exceptional longevity and reliability. The 1:10 twist rate provides optimal stabilization for a wide range of .308 projectiles, while the robust barrel profile ensures consistent accuracy and stable thermal performance. The rifle operates on a rifle-length gas system paired with a user-adjustable gas block made from hardened 4140 steel, allowing the shooter to fine-tune the weapon for both suppressed and unsuppressed use.
The perfected bolt carrier group contributes significantly to the rifle’s smooth operation. It features a superfinished, DLC-coated surface that enhances durability, reduces friction, and makes cleaning easier. The carrier includes an integrated buffer to optimize cycling and reduce felt recoil, while the bolt itself incorporates enhanced extractor geometry and dual ejectors for reliable operation under all conditions.
