The Mossberg MVP Scout is a compact and versatile bolt‑action rifle intended for security roles, tactical applications, and general use at the range or in the field. It is based on the patented MVP platform and combines the accuracy and reliability of a traditional bolt‑action rifle with the practical advantage of AR‑10 magazine compatibility, allowing the use of commonly available AR‑style magazines. The rifle is supplied with a Magpul® PMAG® magazine with a capacity of 10 rounds, with a total capacity of 10+1 rounds.
The rifle is chambered in 7.62 mm NATO / .308 Winchester and features a 16.25‑inch (413 mm) medium bull barrel, which provides good accuracy and thermal stability. The barrel is threaded and fitted with a removable A2‑style flash suppressor, supplemented by a protective thread cap. The 1:10 twist rate ensures reliable stabilization across a wide range of bullet weights. The barrel and receiver are finished in a matte blued finish, appropriate for the rifle’s service and tactical character.
The trigger system utilizes the patented Lightning Bolt Action (LBA®) trigger, which is user‑adjustable from approximately 1.4 to 3.2 kg (3–7 lbs) and delivers a clean, predictable break with minimal overtravel. An oversized bolt handle allows fast and positive operation even under demanding conditions or when wearing gloves.
The rifle is equipped with a synthetic stock with pillar bedding, improving overall rigidity and consistency of accuracy. The fixed length of pull (LOP) is approximately 349 mm (13.75 inches), corresponding to a standard service‑oriented ergonomic setup. The upper assembly features an extended Picatinny rail, combined with a rear ghost ring sight and a front fiber‑optic sight for rapid target acquisition. The stock also incorporates side‑mounted accessory rails for mounting additional equipment.
