The Mossberg MVP Patrol in 7.62 mm NATO / .308 Win is a robust, all-purpose bolt-action rifle designed for range use, ranch work, and security or tactical applications. It combines the inherent accuracy and reliability of a bolt-action system with the practical advantage of AR-style magazine compatibility, allowing the rifle to feed from standard AR-pattern magazines. The rifle is supplied with a Magpul® PMAG®, providing a total capacity of 10+1 rounds.
At the core of the rifle is a 16.25-inch (413 mm) medium bull barrel, optimized for durability and consistent accuracy. The barrel features an A2-style profile, is threaded, and is equipped with a removable muzzle brake, enhancing recoil control during rapid or extended shooting sessions. A 1:10 twist rate makes the barrel well suited for the full range of common .308 Winchester / 7.62 NATO bullet weights. The barrel and metal components are finished in a matte blued finish, minimizing reflections and improving resistance to wear.
The Mossberg MVP Patrol is equipped with fiber-optic rifle sights for fast target acquisition, while a receiver-mounted Picatinny rail allows easy installation of optical sights or other accessories. The rifle features Mossberg’s patented Lightning Bolt Action (LBA®) trigger system, which is user-adjustable within a range of 3 to 7 pounds (approximately 1.4 to 3.2 kg), delivering a clean and consistent trigger break.
The synthetic stock, finished in Tan FDE, is pillar-bedded to enhance rigidity and accuracy. It incorporates a fixed length of pull of 349 mm, ensuring a stable and repeatable shooting position. An oversized bolt handle improves manipulation and control, particularly when operating the rifle with gloves or under stress. The rifle has an overall length of approximately 953 mm and a weight of about 3.2 kg, providing a balanced combination of portability and shooting stability.
