AXIS II Precision

The Savage Arms AXIS II Precision represents a significant enhancement of the original AXIS II line, long known for delivering reliable accuracy at an affordable price. The Precision variant elevates the platform through a collaboration with Modular Driven Technologies (MDT), whose chassis transforms the rifle’s rigidity, ergonomics, and long-range consistency. With an overall length of 43.5 inches and a weight of 9.89 pounds, the rifle provides a stable and competition-ready foundation for precision and long-range shooting.

The MDT chassis is built from black anodized aluminum and fitted with olive drab polymer panels that improve grip and help absorb recoil. The stock allows length-of-pull adjustment from 13.5 to 14.5 inches using spacers, along with an adjustable comb height to fine-tune the shooter’s position. The M-LOK forend supports a wide selection of accessories, including bipods, lights or bag riders. The buttstock uses a black recoil pad with spacers, while the rifle feeds from a detachable AICS-pattern box magazine with a ten-round capacity and ambidextrous release.

Its 22-inch heavy barrel is made from carbon steel with a matte black finish and threaded muzzle, manufactured using button rifling with a 1:8 twist rate optimized for 6.5 Creedmoor caliber. The bolt is released from the side, operating within the proven Savage bolt-action system for smooth cycling and reliable lock-up. A one-piece 20 MOA scope rail is installed on the matte black carbon-steel receiver, ready to accept optics; the rifle does not come with sights or a mounted scope.

The user-adjustable AccuTrigger system offers a pull range from 2.5 to 6 pounds, providing a crisp and predictable break tailored to the shooter’s preference. Chambered here in 6.5 Creedmoor and intended for competition, long-range precision, and target shooting, the AXIS II Precision combines the affordability of the AXIS series with the enhanced performance characteristics of an MDT precision chassis.
