AXIS II XP Hardwood

The Savage Arms Axis II XP Hardwood combines affordable accuracy with the timeless appeal of a traditional wooden stock. Designed as a complete, ready-to-shoot package, the rifle arrives from the factory with a mounted and boresighted 3–9×40 mm scope. It features Savage’s smooth-cycling bolt action and a precision carbon-steel barrel manufactured using button rifling, measuring 22 inches in length. The barrel has a matte black finish, a sporter contour, and no threading, with a 1:8 twist rate optimized for the 6.5 Creedmoor cartridge.

The hardwood stock in a matte brown finish gives the rifle a classic, sturdy feel and provides a stable and comfortable hold. The stock is fixed at a 13.5-inch length of pull and fitted with a recoil pad to reduce felt recoil. Two QD sling studs are fitted for convenient carry or bipod attachment. Feeding is handled by a four-round detachable box magazine with an ambidextrous release. The receiver comes equipped with two-piece Weaver-style bases and medium-height rings for the included optic.

The Axis II XP Hardwood uses Savage’s user-adjustable AccuTrigger system, allowing shooters to fine-tune pull weight between 2.5 and 6 pounds for optimal control. The rifle has an overall length of 43.88 inches and weighs 8.08 pounds, offering a well-balanced platform that performs reliably in the field. Intended primarily for big game hunting, it delivers dependable performance, classic styling, and practical accuracy in an accessible, out-of-the-box configuration.
