This practical kit is designed to allow the user to modify key parameters of CZ 457 series rimfire rifles produced by Česká zbrojovka, particularly the caliber, barrel length, and barrel profile. The miniset includes a thin‑profile 20" barrel chambered in .22 LR without iron sights, a polymer magazine with a capacity of five rounds, a magazine well insert, and the tools required for barrel replacement. The muzzle is equipped with a standardized 1/2"×20 UNF thread and is supplied with a protective thread cap.
Rifles from the CZ 457 series are valued for several advantages, one of the most important being their straightforward modular design. Each model in this family is conceived as an “open system,” allowing the user to change essential characteristics of the firearm, such as caliber, barrel length, and barrel profile.
Minisets are intended specifically for this purpose. These cost‑effective kits consist of a barrel, a five‑round polymer magazine in the corresponding caliber (in the case of .22 LR magazines, the set also includes a magazine well insert), and the hex keys required to remove and install the barrel. Safe removal and installation of the barrel can be carried out easily by the user when following the illustrated instructions included with the kit.
Thanks to the wide and continuously expanding range of minisets available for CZ 457 rimfire rifles, users can configure their firearm according to their individual preferences and requirements. The only minor limitation concerns the barrel channel in the stock. When switching from a thin barrel to a varmint barrel in wooden stocks originally designed for the slimmer profile, the barrel channel usually needs to be widened, ideally by a gunsmith. Polymer stocks used on Synthetic models are already designed as universal and accommodate different barrel profiles.
