Archon Firearms is a Czech manufacturer based in Karlovy Vary that produces premium hand-assembled pistols with the utmost care. The company aims to tailor the weapon to the specific needs of the shooter – whether it is for civilian sports, self-defense or professional use.
Archon emphasizes high quality, accuracy, ergonomics, low recoil and ease of use. The weapons are compatible with collimators (optics-ready), suppressors (suppressor-ready) and have a lower Picatinny rail for attaching accessories.
The company's history dates back to the creation of the AF-Speedlock® system in 2012, when a team of engineers and shooters developed their own patented barrel locking method, based on quality, innovation and feedback from professionals.
Archon Firearms currently offers two main lines – Type B and Type D, both of which are based on the same AF-Speedlock® locking system and strict design framework.
Main features and differents:
♦ Both are self-loading polymer pistols in 9×19mm caliber
♦ They have a low barrel axis (~12mm), which significantly improves control and reduces barrel travel when fired
♦ They offer the following variants as standard: Standard, OR (optics-ready), SR (suppressor-ready) and OSR (combination of both), complete with a Picatinny rail
♦ Both have a short-reset trigger, a cocked firing pin indicator, interchangeable grips and an improved button and magazine well
Type B – a more stylized model, with more pronounced stock lines; aimed primarily at sports shooters and demanding civilian users.
Type D – a more compact model, with straight and conservative stock lines, designed for users who prefer shooting practicality and a cleaner look.

Archon Type B is a model built on innovations and modern features:
♦ Polymer frame, nitrided steel components (frame and slide)
♦ AF-Speedlock® system – the barrel moves only horizontally, without tilting, which improves accuracy when shooting
♦ Low-lying barrel axis (~12mm) for minimized stroke and better control
♦ Short-reset trigger, ergonomic grips, firing pin indicator, aggressive textures, front and rear rifling of the slide
♦ 4.3″ barrel, 6 grooves, 1:10 RH rise, magazine capacity is 16/19 rounds
♦ Available in OR, SR, OSR versions and with interchangeable grips; mounting a collimator or silencer without modifications
♦ Gen2 version added adaptive grip, possibility of changing frame size between full-size, compact and sub-compact
♦ Type B is valued for its accuracy, ergonomics and customization |
Archon Type D builds on the successes of the B series, but introduces certain changes for more practical use:
♦ It retains the AF-Speedlock® system, low-positioned barrel axis, short-reset trigger, nitrided metal parts and polymer frame
♦ The slide design is simpler, straight and conservative - suitable for users who prefer a less aggressive look
♦ Retained OR, SR and OSR configurations, extensive modification of the frame and grip according to the needs of the shooter
♦ Technical parameters (dimensions, caliber, capacity and system) are identical to the Type B
♦ Thanks to its less dramatic appearance, it is more suitable for service use, whether uniformed or civilian defense use. |
