CZ DUTY 4.0 – A New Generation of CZ Pistols for Demanding Use
The CZ DUTY 4.0 represents a new generation of striker-fired pistols designed for demanding use. At its core is a patented modular chassis containing all functional components of the pistol, combined with an improved striker-fired trigger mechanism, advanced ergonomics and a redesigned Optics-Ready interface for direct mounting of selected red-dot sights. The modular concept allows different configurations using grip modules, barrel lengths and magazine capacities.
Safety as a priority
The CZ DUTY 4.0 places a strong emphasis on mechanical safety. The pistol incorporates a three-stage drop protection system, combining a drop safety that blocks striker movement, a trigger safety that prevents trigger movement unless deliberately actuated, and a shortened interrupter that prevents firing until the slide is fully locked. Models equipped with a manual safety add another layer of protection with an ambidextrous manual safety that can be operated comfortably from either side.
Another practical feature is the ability to disassemble the pistol without pulling the trigger, reducing the risk of an unintended discharge during maintenance.
Improved striker-fired trigger
The patented striker-fired trigger mechanism has been designed to provide smooth operation, a clearly defined break and a short, easily recognizable reset. The result is consistent trigger control and fast recovery for subsequent shots. The optimized balance and center of gravity also help the pistol naturally return towards the point of aim after each shot.
Advanced ergonomics for different hand sizes
Ergonomics were developed using digital tools and the CZ DiFEND methodology, with the shape and proportions of the grip optimized for the anatomy of the human hand. The design builds on ergonomic and human-factors research and the experience gained with the CZ P-10 platform.
The CZ DUTY 4.0 comes with three interchangeable grip modules in S, M and L sizes, allowing the grip to be adapted to different hand sizes and trigger reach. The grip texture is designed to provide a secure hold without being unnecessarily aggressive, while the textured area above the trigger provides additional support for safe and comfortable manipulation.
Handling is further enhanced by extended front and rear slide serrations and fully ambidextrous controls. The slide stop, magazine catch and manual safety can all be operated from either side without modification.
Optics-Ready for direct mounting
The redesigned Optics-Ready interface allows selected red-dot sights to be mounted directly to the slide without adapter plates. The interface supports Trijicon RMR, Shield RMSc, Holosun K and Leupold DeltaPoint PRO footprints. A supplied pin set allows the slide interface to be configured for the specific optic, which can then be mounted directly to the slide.
Optional adapter plates extend compatibility to Aimpoint Acro, Colt Optics and Holosun HE509T. The CZ DUTY 4.0 is also equipped with new sights featuring a luminescent or tritium three-dot system, positioned to remain visible in the lower part of the optic's field of view.
Built for long-term durability
The CZ DUTY 4.0 is designed and tested with demanding service use in mind. CZ guarantees 25,000 shots with overpressure DM51 ammunition, while the overall service life is guaranteed at 50,000 shots, including 10,000 shots without parts replacement. DM51 ammunition is loaded to approximately 30% higher pressure than standard ammunition.
The pistol has been tested according to NATO STANAG AC/225, including drop, water and dirt testing. Production precision is continuously controlled, with more than 200 slide dimensions and tolerances measured, while every pistol undergoes functional and accuracy checks and is test-fired at 25 metres.
Further durability comes from the patented CZ nitriding surface treatment, the cold hammer forged barrel and a glass-fiber-reinforced polymer frame designed to maintain mechanical and thermal stability across demanding temperature conditions.
Reliable, practical magazines
CZ DUTY 4.0 magazines are designed for durability and reliable operation, with capacities of 15 or 17 rounds depending on the pistol configuration. Their redesigned base provides a secure grip during magazine changes, while optional +2 bases and high bases allow further configuration of the magazine and grip combination. A low-friction surface treatment facilitates loading, improves reliability and provides additional corrosion protection.
The CZ DUTY 4.0 series is available in two basic sizes. The CZ DUTY 4.0 C is the compact variant with a 15-round capacity, while the CZ DUTY 4.0 F offers a full-size configuration with a 17-round capacity. The shooter can thus choose not only the size of the pistol but also their preferred method of mechanical safety (MS).
