The Glock 19X includes all Gen 5 features – a barrel with a new rifling pattern, ambidextrous slide stop levers, a redesigned trigger mechanism with a 2.25 kg trigger pull weight, and other enhancements such as a different firing pin and firing pin safety block. However, it features a different magazine well shape compared to standard Gen 5 models. The frame lacks finger grooves (similar to Gen 5) and does not have a front cutout for a magazine baseplate extension. Instead, the frame extends downward to accommodate shooting with tactical gloves. Due to the absence of the cutout and the different shape, Gen 5 magazines are not compatible with the Glock 19X, but magazines from all other generations are compatible.
The frame also features a removable lanyard loop. The pistol is equipped with tritium night sights and comes with three magazines: one 17-round magazine and two 17+2 round magazines with extended baseplates.
The Glock 19X features a new surface finish (nPVD slide coating / Physical Vapor Deposition) in a sand color. This coating is applied using a spray-and-vacuum deposition process, resulting in ultra-thin layers (about 2μm) that provide high hardness, low friction (reducing internal parts wear), good abrasion resistance, high temperature resistance (up to 750°C), and excellent corrosion and acid resistance.
