HK45

The Heckler & Koch HK45 is a modern large-caliber semi-automatic pistol designed with a strong focus on reliability, ergonomics, and shooting performance. This model combines HK’s proven engineering with design elements inspired by classic handgun platforms, most notably the legendary M1911.

Chambered in .45 ACP, the HK45 features a Single Action / Double Action trigger system with a combined manual safety and decocking lever. The trigger pull measures 20 N in single action and 50 N in double action, with a 12 mm trigger travel and a 6 mm reset, providing excellent control during both precision and rapid fire. The magazine capacity is 10 rounds.

The pistol operates on a modified Browning locking system using a recoil-operated mechanism. The 114 mm barrel (4.5") is made from cold hammer-forged special steel, features polygonal rifling with six grooves and a right-hand twist, and is hard chrome-plated for extended service life. An O-ring fitted at the muzzle minimizes barrel play within the slide, enhancing repeatable accuracy and tight shot groupings.

The frame is constructed from ultra-high-strength polymer and incorporates a patented recoil buffer system that reduces felt recoil by up to 30%, a significant advantage for a pistol in this caliber. The grip angle follows that of the M1911, while ergonomics can be further refined through an exchangeable backstrap. A slip-resistant grip texture ensures secure handling in all weather conditions.

All major controls are fully ambidextrous, making the HK45 suitable for both right- and left-handed shooters. Rear slide serrations allow confident slide manipulation even with gloves or wet hands. The pistol is equipped with open square sights with self-illuminating contrast dots, enabling fast target acquisition in low-light conditions, with the option to mount alternative sighting systems.

A Picatinny rail compatible with MIL‑STD‑1913 is integrated into the frame for mounting accessories such as weapon lights or lasers. The pistol can be field-stripped into its main assemblies without tools, simplifying maintenance. With a weight of 780 g without magazine, the HK45 offers an excellent balance of strength, controllability, and shooting comfort.
