The Heckler & Koch SFP9 SF SD pistol in 9 mm Luger (9×19) is a modern duty and tactical variant of the striker-fired SFP9 platform, designed for precision, reliability and suppressor-ready performance. The SF (Special Forces) configuration reflects requirements of professional users.
The pistol operates with a fully pre-cocked Single Action striker system, offering a consistent trigger pull of 22 + 5 N, a short trigger travel of 6 mm, and a very short reset of 3 mm, enabling fast and accurate follow-up shots. The striker energy is comparable to hammer-fired pistols, ensuring reliable ignition across a wide range of ammunition. Safety features include trigger, firing pin and disassembly safeties, along with a striker status indicator located at the rear of the slide.
The 119 mm (4.7") barrel is made from cold hammer-forged special steel with a polygonal profile and right-hand twist. It features a 13.5×1 LH threaded muzzle, allowing the attachment of suppressors or other muzzle devices. Muzzle velocity reaches up to 375 m/s, with a muzzle energy of approximately 562 J, providing strong ballistic performance with excellent controllability.
The pistol has an overall length of 202 mm, a height of 138 mm, and a width of 33 mm, with a 162 mm sight radius contributing to precise aiming. The unloaded weight is 660 g, and the low bore axis ensures minimal muzzle rise and fast target reacquisition. The pistol supports magazines with capacities of 15, 17, or 20 rounds, compatible with the P30/SFP9 platform.
Ergonomics are a key strength of the design. The modular grip system with interchangeable side panels and backstraps allows up to 27 different grip configurations, supported by various grip textures for maximum control in all conditions. The low hand position relative to the bore axis enhances stability during rapid fire.
The pistol is equipped with Open Square Sight with Contrast Dots (self-illuminating), enabling precise zeroing and fast target acquisition in low-light conditions. A Picatinny rail (MIL-STD-1913) is integrated into the frame, with guaranteed function even when accessories up to 160 g are mounted. The design also features fully ambidextrous controls and tool-free disassembly.
