The Heckler & Koch SP5 L is a semi-automatic pistol based on the legendary MP5 platform in an extended configuration, offering increased accuracy and ballistic performance thanks to its significantly longer barrel. It is designed for sport shooting and demanding users who require maximum stability and precision at longer distances.
The firearm is chambered in 9 × 19 mm and operates using a roller-delayed blowback system, ensuring smooth operation, low wear, and exceptional reliability. The trigger pull ranges from 30–45 N, and the weapon operates in semi-auto mode. Magazine capacity is 10 / 15 / 30 rounds.
The key feature of the L variant is the extended 421 mm (16.57") barrel, made from cold hammer-forged, hard chrome-plated special steel, delivering higher muzzle velocity of up to 350 m/s and energy of approximately 490 J. This results in improved ballistic performance and accuracy. The overall length is 648 mm, height 220 mm, width 63 mm, and sight radius remains 330 mm.
