The Heckler & Koch SP5 is a semi-automatic pistol based on the legendary MP5 platform, designed for the civilian market with a focus on maximum reliability, accuracy, and safety. It combines proven engineering with modern manufacturing, making it suitable for both sport shooting and tactical applications.

The firearm is chambered in 9 × 19 mm and operates using a roller-delayed blowback system, a hallmark of HK design that ensures smooth operation and long service life. The trigger pull ranges from 30–45 N, and the weapon operates in semi-auto mode. Magazine capacity is 10 / 15 / 30 rounds.

The 225 mm (8,85") barrel is made from cold hammer-forged, hard chrome-plated special steel with a conventional rifled bore, ensuring durability and precision. Muzzle velocity reaches approximately 330 m/s, with energy around 435 J. The overall length is 452 mm, height 220 mm, width 63 mm, and sight radius 330 mm. The unloaded weight is 2.5 kg, contributing to excellent stability and minimal recoil rise.

The firearm features a rotary drum rear sight with 4 positions, allowing quick adjustment for different shooting distances. Ergonomics follow the proven MP5 layout, with intuitive controls and the ability to engage the safety in any loading condition.

Its modular design allows for extensive customization. The platform supports buttstock interfaces, optional HKey handguards, and NATO STANAG 4694 mounting rails for optics and accessories. The barrel may also feature a tri-lug interface for quick-detach suppressor mounting (model-dependent).
