The Kimber Rampart is the newest addition to Kimber’s line of compensated 1911 pistols in 9 mm caliber, combining a robust stainless-steel frame and slide with race-inspired features. The slide features lightning cuts and custom racing-style rear serrations, and the top strap forward of the ejection port is ported to optimize gas flow. The Rampart ships in a Custom OD Green Cerakote® finish and comes standard with a patent-pending, toolless compensator that materially reduces felt recoil.
Sights are quality HIVIZ® units — Front: HIVIZ® Single-Dot and Rear: HIVIZ® 2-Dot — enabling fast target acquisition in dynamic situations. The pistol is built around a match-grade 5" (≈ 12.70 cm) barrel finished in Black DLC and features a 1:16 left-hand twist. The design includes a mil-spec guide rod and a recoil spring rated at 16 lb (≈ 71.2 N); together with the compensator this setup yields controlled, repeatable cycling and reduced muzzle rise.
Dimensionally, the Rampart balances presence with handling: overall length: 9.7" (≈ 24.64 cm), height: 5.25" (≈ 13.34 cm), width at grip: 1.28" (≈ 3.25 cm) and a weight with an empty magazine of 40.25 oz (≈ 1,141 g).
