The Kimber 2K11 Independence OR is a limited-edition model released in celebration of Independence Day, July 4th, 2025. Limited to 1,776 total units, this special edition combines full-performance 2K11 capability with a distinctive patriotic design. Chambered in .45 ACP, it offers a total capacity of 13+1 rounds, including (3) 13-round magazines.
The Stainless Steel frame and Stainless Steel slide feature a Flag themed Cerakote finish, complemented by a custom Kevlar® Carbon Fiber grip module with a stars-and-stripes motif. The slide includes an external extractor and custom 2K11 serrations. Frame width measures 1.53" (≈ 3.89 cm). Ergonomic features include a bumped grip safety, ambidextrous thumb safety, front strap checkering (LPI), a Picatinny rail, and a tapered magwell for faster reloads.
The 5" (127 mm) stainless steel barrel with DLC finish is fluted and ramped, utilizing 5R rifling with a 1:16 twist rate (left hand) for consistent ballistic stability. The pistol uses a recoil spring rated at 16 lb (≈ 71.2 N) and incorporates a Toolless Guide Rod (patent-pending) for simplified maintenance.
The aluminum GT Match Grade Trigger delivers a crisp break between 3–4 lb (≈ 13.3–17.8 N) with short travel and zero creep.
Optics readiness is standard with an included C&H Precision RMR optic adapter plate, with additional plates available for RMSc, DPP, ACRO, and 509T footprints. The sight system features a TAG FiberLok 2 Red front sight and an SST cover plate with built-in adjustable rear sight.
