The Kimber R7 Mako Carbon Compact is the latest addition to the R7 family, built around a redesigned frame made from a carbon fiber-infused matrix that delivers exceptional strength — up to 60,000 psi (≈ 413.7 MPa) — while keeping the platform lightweight.
The pistol is engineered to provide modern EDC features: a pronounced high undercut delivers superb ergonomics and control, and the industry-leading performance carry trigger provides consistent, repeatable breaks for excellent accuracy out of the 3.92" (≈ 9.96 cm) barrel.
Kimber’s signature side ejection port and no-snag profile create a sleek concealed-carry firearm, and reloading is smooth thanks to the extended, flared magwell that accepts a 15-round magazine (two magazines included). Dimensionally the pistol balances concealability and handling with an overall length of 7" (≈ 17.78 cm), a grip width of 1.16" (≈ 2.95 cm) and a weight without magazine of 24.4 oz (≈ 692 g). The slide and barrel are stainless steel with an FNC finish, the frame is carbon-fiber infused with molded stippling, and the pistol ships with an optics cover plate milled for RMSc/Holosun K footprints as well as four interchangeable modular backstraps to tailor the grip. Additional features include an accessory rail, flared magwell, high undercut, ambidextrous slide lever and magazine release, and a trigger safety; factory trigger pull is approximately 5.0–6.75 lb (≈ 22.24–30.04 N).
The Kimber Carbon Compact (OR) is a feature-rich striker-fired design built to deliver durability, adaptability and top-tier carry performance, and its optic-ready.
