The Remington 1911 R1 Carry Commander MOE is a compact interpretation of the classic 1911 platform, purpose-built for everyday concealed carry and personal defense. It features a forged carbon steel frame and slide with a matte black finish, and all sharp edges are dehorned for enhanced comfort when carried.

The stainless steel barrel measures 5" (127 mm) and is designed with a match-grade bore and a ramped feed to ensure reliable cycling of various ammunition types, including hollow-points. Novak-style sights include a front tritium dot for low-light visibility, with the rear sight drift-adjustable for windage.

The trigger is lightweight and skeletonized, equipped with an adjustable overtravel stop for a clean and crisp pull. This is a single-action pistol with an extended beavertail grip safety, providing a secure and high shooting hold. Safety features also include an ambidextrous thumb safety and a firing pin block for enhanced drop safety. The standard magazine holds 7 rounds of .45 ACP.
