The Ruger SR1911 is a full-size pistol chambered in .45 Auto, built as a faithful interpretation of the classic 1911 design while incorporating modern manufacturing precision and refined details. It retains the original 1911 fire-control system, delivering the unmistakable trigger feel and manual operation that have made this platform legendary among shooters for more than a century. With a standard capacity of 8+1 rounds, the SR1911 is designed for shooters who value tradition, precision, and robust all-steel construction.
Both the slide and frame are manufactured from stainless steel with a low-glare finish, ensuring excellent durability, corrosion resistance, and a refined appearance suitable for duty, sport, or range use. Precision CNC machining results in an exceptionally tight slide-to-frame fit and smooth slide travel, contributing directly to the pistol’s accuracy and consistent function. The 5" (127 mm) barrel features a positive lock-up, providing excellent accuracy straight out of the box. The barrel uses 6 grooves with a right-hand twist of 1:16", optimized for the .45 Auto cartridge.
The SR1911 follows a traditional layout with replaceable hardwood grip panels and a checkered backstrap for a secure, classic grip feel. Controls are enhanced for modern handling, including an extended thumb safety, extended slide stop, and an oversized beavertail grip safety that promotes reliable disengagement and improved comfort during recoil. A flat mainspring housing and rear slide serrations further improve handling and manipulation.
The trigger system features a lightweight, aluminum, skeletonized trigger that provides a crisp pull with no creep and a short, positive reset. A skeletonized hammer combined with a titanium firing pin reduces lock time for improved shot-to-shot consistency. The enlarged ejection port and extended magazine release enhance reliability and speed during reloads, while the inspection port allows visual confirmation of a loaded or empty chamber.
Sighting is handled by Novak® drift-adjustable 3-dot sights, offering a clean sight picture and fast target acquisition. The pistol accepts most standard aftermarket 1911 parts and accessories, making it an excellent base for customization.
In terms of dimensions, the Ruger SR1911 measures 220 mm in overall length, 138 mm in height, and 34 mm in width. The weight is approximately 1,106 g, reflecting its solid all-steel construction and excellent recoil control.
The Ruger SR1911 is supplied with one 8-round stainless steel magazine, one 7-round stainless steel magazine, and a barrel bushing wrench, completing a package that combines classic 1911 heritage with Ruger’s modern manufacturing quality and attention to detail.
