CZ 75 TOBRUK

This unique edition commemorates 739 members of the Czechoslovak Infantry Battalion 11 – Eastern, who in the autumn of 1941, under the command of Lieutenant Colonel Karel Klapálek, joined other Allied units in the defense of the Libyan port city of Tobruk, which was besieged by strong German-Italian troops. Here, in very difficult conditions and at the cost of 9 dead and dozens wounded, the Czechoslovaks demonstrated their determination to fight for the liberation of their homeland.

Although the communist regime systematically tried to suppress the significance of the western part of the anti-fascist resistance, the Czechoslovaks never forgot these "Tobruk rats". After 1989, they were rehabilitated. The successful defense of Tobruk became an integral part of the combat traditions of today's Army of the Czech Republic and was included among the regularly commemorated events of which we can rightly be proud.

The base of the CZ 75 TOBRUK edition is the all-steel CZ 75 B model in 9 mm Luger caliber. The frame, slide and barrel are polished to a high gloss. The contours of the frame and slide are highlighted by a decorative line created by inlaying with pure silver, the grips are made of high-quality walnut wood.

On the left side of the weapon are the years 1941 - 2021, the name of the weapon CZ 75 TOBRUK cal. 9 mm Luger and the description Made in the Czech Republic in edition 80 pieces in original czech language. The right side commemorates the places of battle with the inscription Tobruk, Libya. Unique production numbers in the range 1941-01 to 1941-80 are reserved for this edition. The quote from the period photo "Power built on injustice is fleeting." above the name of the unit Czechoslovak Infantry Battalion 11 - Eastern on the right side of the frame is still relevant in its message (text is written in czech language).
