Ruger GP100 is a double-action revolver chambered for .357 Magnum cartridges, designed as a compact variant of the proven GP100 platform. The frame is made of stainless steel with a satin stainless finish, providing high corrosion resistance and long service life even under frequent use of high-pressure magnum ammunition.
The revolver operates in a double-action mechanism (DA) and features the GP100 system with a triple-locking cylinder design, locking the cylinder at the front, rear, and bottom for precise alignment and reliable operation shot after shot. The cold hammer-forged barrel features a 1:18.75" RH twist rate, optimized for .357 Magnum cartridges. A ramp front sight combined with an integral rear sight provides a simple, durable, and reliable sighting setup. Ergonomics are handled by a Hogue® Monogrip®, offering a secure hold and effective recoil control.
In terms of dimensions, the Ruger GP100 features a barrel length of 3" (76 mm), an overall length of 216 mm, a cylinder capacity of 6 rounds, and a weight of approximately 1020 g, providing a balanced combination of compact handling and shooting stability.
