Ruger GP100 Match Champion is a double-action revolver chambered for .357 Magnum cartridges, developed as a competition-oriented variant of the GP100 platform with emphasis on accuracy, smooth operation, and fast handling. The revolver is built on a stainless steel frame with a satin stainless finish, providing high corrosion resistance while maintaining a clean, technical appearance suited for competitive use.
The revolver operates in a double-action system and incorporates an enhanced GP100 design optimized for performance shooting. A key feature is the triple-locking cylinder, which locks into the frame at the front, rear, and bottom, ensuring precise alignment and consistent function shot after shot. The cold hammer-forged barrel measures 4.20" (107 mm) and features a 1:18.75" RH twist rate, ending with an 11° target crown to enhance accuracy. A fiber optic front sight combined with an adjustable rear sight provides a fast and highly visible sight picture. Ergonomics are improved by Hogue® stippled hardwood grips, combining wood construction with textured surfaces for a secure hold during dynamic shooting.
The design also features polished and optimized internal components, a centered trigger pivot, and refined hammer geometry, resulting in a smooth double-action pull and consistent break. In terms of dimensions, the Ruger GP100 Match Champion features a barrel length of 4.2" (107 mm), an overall length of 241 mm, a cylinder capacity of 6 rounds, and a weight of approximately 1077 g, providing a balanced platform for fast transitions and competitive performance.
