Ruger LCRx is a double-action revolver chambered for .357 Magnum cartridges, based on the LCR platform but enhanced with an external hammer allowing single-action operation. It is designed as a compact, lightweight revolver suitable for concealed carry and versatile use.
The design is built on a monolithic frame made from 400-series stainless steel, providing high strength and corrosion resistance while keeping weight low. The revolver operates in a double-action mechanism (DA), with the external hammer enabling precise single-action firing when desired.
The fire control system uses a patented friction-reducing cam, delivering a smooth trigger pull with no increase in resistance throughout the stroke (non-stacking). A polymer fire control housing keeps internal components properly aligned, reduces overall weight, and helps mitigate recoil.
The cold hammer-forged barrel features a 1:16" RH twist rate, optimized for .357 Magnum cartridges. A replaceable pinned ramp front sight and adjustable black blade rear sight provide a precise and configurable sighting system. The cylinder is made of high-strength stainless steel with a PVD finish and is deeply fluted to reduce weight. Ergonomics are enhanced by a Hogue® Tamer™ Monogrip®, which significantly reduces perceived recoil and improves control.
In terms of dimensions, the Ruger LCRx features a barrel length of 3" (76 mm), an overall length of 191 mm, a cylinder capacity of 5 rounds, and a weight of approximately 603 g, making it a lightweight and flexible revolver with both double-action and single-action capability.
