Ruger SP101 is a double-action revolver chambered for .357 Magnum, here configured with a 3" barrel that offers a balance between compact carry size and improved shooting stability. The construction is based on a stainless steel frame, providing high strength, durability, and long service life even with powerful magnum ammunition.
The revolver operates in a double-action mechanism (DA) with a standard exposed hammer. A transfer bar safety system provides an enhanced level of protection against accidental discharge.
The barrel measures 3" (76 mm) and is cold hammer-forged for durability and accuracy. It features a 1:16" RH twist rate, optimized for .357 Magnum cartridges. The sighting system consists of a fixed rear sight and a pinned, replaceable black ramp front sight.
The cylinder has a capacity of 5 rounds and uses a triple-locking system (front, rear, and bottom lock-up) for strong alignment and consistent operation shot after shot. Ergonomics are provided by cushioned rubber grips with synthetic inserts, designed to eliminate direct metal contact at the backstrap and improve shooting comfort.
