Ruger Super GP100 is a high-performance double-action revolver chambered for .357 Magnum, designed as a competition-oriented platform with emphasis on accuracy, fast reloading, and a very smooth trigger pull. The construction is based on a stainless steel frame with a PVD finish, which reduces glare and improves surface durability under intensive use.
The revolver operates in a double-action mechanism (DA) and uses an advanced trigger system derived from the Super Redhawk design, including a two-spring arrangement that ensures a smooth trigger pull and consistent ignition of the primer. A transfer bar safety system provides an enhanced level of protection against accidental discharge.
The barrel measures 5.5" (140 mm), is cold hammer-forged, and features a partial lower rib and barrel shroud, improving balance while still allowing fast manual ejection of spent cases. The muzzle is finished with an 11° target crown, enhancing accuracy. It has a 1:16" RH twist rate, optimized for both .357 Magnum and .38 Special cartridges.
The sighting system consists of a fiber optic front sight and an adjustable rear sight, enabling fast and precise target acquisition in dynamic shooting. The cylinder is cut for moon clips, significantly speeding up reloading, and the revolver is supplied with three full moon clips.
The cylinder capacity is 8 rounds and uses a triple-locking system (front, rear, and bottom lock-up) for maximum alignment strength and reliability. The internal mechanism is polished and optimized, including a centering boss on the trigger and hammer shims, resulting in an exceptionally smooth DA trigger pull.
Ergonomics are provided by hand-finished Hogue hardwood grips, combining a smooth surface with a secure hold and competition-oriented feel.
In terms of dimensions, the Ruger Super GP100 weighs approximately 1,333 g, has an overall length of 279 mm, and a 8-round capacity, making it a highly accurate competition revolver designed for both precision and dynamic shooting disciplines.
