Power and might. The Ruger Super Redhawk Alaskan in .454 Casull offers all the benefits of the Redhawk series, plus a padded grip, forged barrel, and extended ring frame.
Ruger Redhawk Alaskan is a double-action revolver chambered for .454 Casull, designed as an extremely compact yet exceptionally powerful sidearm intended for dangerous game defense and extreme field conditions where maximum reliability and stopping power are required. The construction is based on a corrosion-resistant stainless steel frame, engineered to withstand very high-pressure loads.
The revolver operates in a double-action mechanism (DA). A transfer bar safety system provides an enhanced level of protection against accidental discharge.
The barrel measures 2.5" (64 mm) and is cold hammer-forged for durability, accuracy, and ease of maintenance. It features a 1:24" RH twist rate, optimized for .454 Casull cartridges. The sighting system consists of a replaceable ramp front sight with a colored insert and an adjustable rear sight, enabling fast and precise target acquisition.
The cylinder has a capacity of 6 rounds and uses a triple-locking system (front, rear, and bottom lock-up) for maximum alignment strength and consistent operation shot after shot. The frame is heavily reinforced and extended, with extra material in the top strap, sidewalls, and barrel mounting areas to handle the extreme pressures generated by big-game cartridges.
Ergonomics are provided by a Hogue Tamer grip with an internal recoil-absorbing cushion positioned under the web of the hand, helping to reduce perceived recoil. The grip frame also supports the installation of custom grips.
In terms of dimensions, the Ruger Redhawk Alaskan weighs approximately 1,247 g, has an overall length of 194 mm, and a 6-round capacity, making it an ultra-compact yet extremely powerful revolver built for the most demanding conditions.
