Ruger Bearcat is a compact single-action revolver chambered for .22 LR cartridges, designed in the tradition of classic American percussion and early cartridge revolvers of the 19th century. The one-piece frame made of alloy steel, combined with a traditional blued finish, reflects historical influences, particularly those of Remington revolvers from the Civil War era. A distinctive feature is the decorative unfluted cylinder with an engraving of a bear and cougar, enhancing both the visual identity and overall character of the firearm.
Mechanically, the revolver operates in a single-action system with an emphasis on safety and simplicity. It is equipped with a transfer bar safety mechanism which, together with the loading gate interlock, effectively prevents accidental discharge and allows safe carry with all chambers loaded. The barrel is cold hammer-forged, ensuring precise rifling with a 1:16" RH twist rate and long service life. A blade front sight and an integral notch rear sight machined into the frame follow the traditional sighting concept and support intuitive aiming. Ergonomics are complemented by hardwood grips, providing a secure hold while maintaining a classic appearance.
