The Ruger‑5.7 is a modern semi-automatic pistol chambered in the high-performance 5.7×28 mm cartridge, designed for high capacity, low recoil, and excellent handling. Combining a lightweight construction with thoughtfully engineered ergonomics, it delivers comfortable shooting even during rapid or extended use. The pistol comes with a standard 20+1 round capacity, and its double-stack steel magazine provides high ammunition capacity without adding unnecessary bulk to the grip.
The frame is made from high-performance, glass-filled nylon with aggressive texturing for a secure and stable grip. Ergonomics are further enhanced by a short trigger reach, a robust slide release, and a reversible magazine release. The ambidextrous manual safety follows a 1911-style design and is easily accessible by the thumb. The Ruger‑5.7 employs the proven Ruger Secure Action™ system, combining a protected internal hammer with a bladed trigger safety. The trigger has a short, smooth pull with a clean break and positive reset.
The slide is machined from billet alloy steel, with lightening cuts and a black oxide finish. It is drilled and tapped for optic mounting, and a compatible adapter plate is available separately. The alloy steel barrel, 4.94" (125.5 mm) in length, features a black nitride treatment for increased wear and corrosion resistance. The rifled barrel contains 8 grooves with a right-hand twist of 1:9", enhancing bullet stabilization and accuracy.
Sight options include an adjustable rear sight with serrations and a rapid-acquisition fiber optic front sight. A Picatinny-style accessory rail under the barrel allows for easy attachment of lights and lasers. Safe handling is supported by an inspection port for visual confirmation of a loaded or empty chamber and simple takedown that requires no tools or trigger pull. The magazine drops free when released, facilitating quick reloads, and two steel magazines are included in the package.
In terms of dimensions, the Ruger‑5.7 is a well-balanced full-size pistol. Overall length is 219.7 mm, height 142.2 mm, slide width 30.5 mm, and weight without magazine is approximately 695 g.
