Ruger SR1911 Competition is an all‑metal competition‑grade pistol chambered in .45 Auto, designed for precision and dynamic shooting in a match environment. It is based on the classic 1911 platform, further refined through hand‑fitted critical components and the use of competition‑oriented features to deliver maximum accuracy and consistency. Standard magazine capacity is 8+1 rounds, consistent with the traditional full‑size .45 Auto configuration.
Both the slide and frame are manufactured from stainless steel, with the frame finished in black nitride and the slide featuring a distinctive two‑tone black‑nitrided and stainless finish. The hand‑fitted slide‑to‑frame interface results in an exceptionally tight yet smooth and refined action, characteristic of high‑end competition pistols. The barrel, measuring 5" (127 mm), is equipped with a fitted barrel lug, precision barrel bushing, and a target crown, ensuring excellent out‑of‑the‑box accuracy. The bore incorporates six grooves with a right‑hand twist of 1:16", optimized for .45 Auto ammunition.
The frame features 25 lines‑per‑inch front strap checkering, a matching checkered mainspring housing, and textured G10 grip panels, providing outstanding grip and control during rapid fire. Ergonomics are further enhanced by an undercut trigger guard, allowing a higher grip, and an oversized beavertail grip safety, which helps reduce muzzle flip and improves shooting comfort.
